Last night we closed off our first Delta IPA Homebrew competition with a final of 6 great DIY beers.
Homebrewer Hermann Wirt and his friends of the ‘Hausbraubande’ collective were able to convince our jury with their version of BBP’s biggest All-Star.
Their price? An invitation to come develop and brew a beer with the BBP team!
The Delta DIY competition was launched early April to challenge the homebrew community to recreate the first beer of BBP!
25 contestants delivered their beer to our Dansaert brewery. During several tasting sessions we reduced the number of contestants to a final 6.
During the final Hermann’s beer beat the strong competition with a homemade Delta that was very powerful on the hop aromas, but still in balance with the flavours of the fermentation with Saison yeast.
Runner-ups were Alexis Letellier and Nicolas Lacroix, who also made 2 great versions of Delta IPA, but were just not able to beat Hermann!
We also gave a price to the best label design, which was created by Man & Brown and Tom & Sibren.
